Start your own business

Your manhole rehab
business starts here.

Build it on ArmorThane’s tried-and-true system — the polyurea, the spray rig, the training and the support that crews already rely on.

Why manhole rehab

The work isn’t going away.
It’s piling up.

Millions of concrete manholes are aging underneath North American streets. Every one of them eventually needs attention — and owners want it done fast, without digging.

Aging infrastructure

Much of the sewer system was built decades ago. Concrete corrodes, joints open up and structures that were never protected start failing.

Pressure to cut I&I

Infiltration and inflow overload treatment plants and trigger overflows. Utilities are under real pressure — and often consent decrees — to seal their systems.

Funding for rehab

Federal and state infrastructure programs are putting money behind collection-system rehabilitation, and owners need qualified crews to spend it.

Why polyurea makes a better business

Fast cycle times. Low overhead. Repeat customers.

  • More structures per day. Polyurea gels in seconds, so crews aren’t waiting on cure times between coats or between jobs.
  • No excavation. No heavy equipment, no paving crews, no long road closures — just a rig and a well-trained team.
  • Recurring demand. Municipalities and sewer districts rehab on multi-year programs, which means a steady pipeline once you’re qualified.
  • One rig, many markets. The same equipment sprays tanks, containment, truck beds, roofs and concrete — diversify whenever you want.

What you get

Everything you need to spray on day one.

ArmorThane bundles equipment, materials, training and support into one startup package — so you’re not piecing a business together from five suppliers.

FAQ

Starting out? Start here.

Do I need coatings experience to start?

No. Plenty of successful applicators start with no spray background. Training covers surface preparation, equipment operation, spray technique, quality control and confined-space safety, and support continues after you’re in the field.

How much does it cost to get started?

It depends on rig size and configuration, the materials package and your crew. ArmorThane doesn’t publish one-size pricing — tell us about your plans and we’ll put together a package and quote around them.

How long until I can take jobs?

ArmorThane says new applicators can be fully equipped and ready to spray in just weeks. Your rig build and training schedule set the exact timeline.

Who hires manhole rehab contractors?

Municipal public works departments, sewer and water districts, engineering firms, general contractors, industrial plants and private property owners with on-site sewer structures.

Can my rig do other work too?

Yes. The same polyurea equipment sprays truck bedliners, tank and containment linings, roofs, concrete protection and more, so you can diversify between infrastructure projects.

What about financing?

Many new owners finance their rig. Mention it in the form and we’ll point you toward options.
